The Blue Jade

I actually been working on this picture for sometime. Originally a portrait, I turned into a full on picture. When the portrait was drawn, I went all out by including as much detail as I could.
From the lips, nose and eyes, I tried something new to show off more detail.
As of the past year I've also been practicing more with anatomy, trying to obtain the same detail. And later applied this to the old portrait.

The background I wanted to be simple. It's supposed to be a black wall with an advertisement. You may notice the wall is a bit beat up, and the sign falling apart. I wanted to hint that a battle just ended here, and chunli was the victor.
This concept was also planned for the makoto sketch, as both drawings were being done at the same time. At one point his image was even planned to just be inked with little color just like the previous post.

What proved the most troubling was the lighting effects. Especially when it comes to hair and skin. I wanted to avoid making her skin looking all shiny, as I felt it makes the character look more like a plastic doll.
